An Intimate New York Wedding at Lady Mendl’s
Some weddings are defined by grand ballrooms, while others are unforgettable because of the atmosphere they create. Andrew & Carla chose to celebrate their wedding surrounded by the timeless charm of Manhattan, New York, combining the city’s historic architecture with the elegance of Lady Mendl’s. As their professional wedding photographer, I had the privilege of documenting every meaningful moment from beginning to end.
The day began with the Getting Ready, where Andrew put on the finishing touches to his classic navy suit while Carla prepared for the ceremony with a calm excitement that could be felt in every room. Before the celebration officially began, I captured quiet portraits that reflected not only how beautiful they looked, but also the anticipation of seeing each other as husband and wife.
Their outdoor ceremony took place in a hidden courtyard surrounded by the iconic brick buildings of New York City. It was the perfect balance between an intimate gathering and the unmistakable character of Manhattan. Watching family and friends witness their vows in such a unique setting made this ceremony feel incredibly personal, and photographing those genuine reactions is exactly why I love what I do.
Following the ceremony, we explored the surrounding gardens and pathways for their wedding photo session. Instead of rushing through portraits, we took our time allowing Andrew & Carla to simply enjoy each other’s company. Some of my favorite images came from these quiet moments, where natural smiles and authentic emotions created photographs that feel timeless.
The celebration continued inside Lady Mendl’s, where guests enjoyed an elegant reception filled with heartfelt conversations, laughter, and an intimate atmosphere that perfectly matched the couple’s vision. Every detail, from the historic interiors to the warm lighting, complemented the style of their wedding and created beautiful opportunities for storytelling through photography.
As a professional wedding photographer, weddings like Andrew & Carla’s remind me that the most memorable celebrations are not always the largest—they are the ones that truly reflect the personalities of the couple. Their day was filled with genuine emotion, beautiful architecture, and meaningful connections, making it an honor to preserve these memories for years to come.
