Nina & Frank’s Wedding at Verdi’s of Westbury, New York
Wedding Date: October 11, 2026
Wedding Venue: Verdi’s of Westbury, New York
Photography Coverage: First Look, Family Photos, Ceremony & Reception
A Wedding Day Is Made of More Than One Big Moment
When people think about wedding photography, they often imagine the ceremony, the first kiss, or the couple’s portraits. And while those moments are important, I’ve always believed that the real story of a wedding is found in everything that happens between them.
On October 11, 2026, I had the opportunity to photograph Nina and Frank’s wedding at Verdi’s of Westbury in New York.
Their wedding day included a first look, family portraits, the ceremony, and the reception. Four parts of the celebration, each with a different atmosphere and a different purpose.
What I enjoy most about photographing a wedding like this is finding a way to connect all those moments into one story. Not every photograph needs to be perfectly posed or carefully arranged. Sometimes, the most meaningful images come from simply paying attention to what is happening.
The First Look: A Moment Just for Nina and Frank
A first look is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day to photograph.
Unlike the ceremony, when the couple is surrounded by guests and following a schedule, the first look offers an opportunity to focus entirely on each other.
For Nina and Frank, this was an important part of their wedding photography coverage.
As a professional wedding photographer, I approach first looks with as little interruption as possible. I want to document the interaction without making the couple feel as though they need to perform for the camera.
I usually focus on the anticipation before the couple sees each other, their expressions during the encounter, and the quieter moments immediately afterward.
There is something special about photographs taken when two people are focused on each other rather than on the camera.
These are the images that can make a wedding gallery feel personal.
Family Photos: The People Who Share Your Story
One of the things I’ve learned through photographing weddings is that family portraits become more valuable with time.
During the wedding itself, they may seem like another item on the schedule. Everyone gathers, finds their place, smiles, and moves on to the next part of the celebration.
But years later, those same photographs often become some of the most meaningful images in the entire collection.
Nina and Frank included family photography as part of their wedding day, giving us the opportunity to document the people who shared their celebration.
My approach to family portraits is simple: keep the process organized, make everyone comfortable, and create photographs that look natural without sacrificing quality.
Good group photography requires more than asking everyone to smile. It involves paying attention to positioning, lighting, expressions, and the small details that can make a difference in the final image.
For me, these portraits are an essential part of telling a complete wedding story.
The Wedding Ceremony at Verdi’s of Westbury
The ceremony is the moment when the preparation and anticipation of a wedding day come together.
At Verdi’s of Westbury, Nina and Frank celebrated their marriage, marking the central moment of their October wedding.
Ceremony photography requires a different mindset from a traditional wedding photo session.
Instead of directing the couple, my responsibility is to observe, anticipate, and capture the important moments as they happen.
I pay attention to the wider setting, but also to the smaller details: the way a couple looks at each other, their expressions, and the reactions of the people around them.
These moments happen quickly, and they cannot always be repeated.
That’s why experience and preparation matter so much in professional wedding photography. Knowing where to position myself, how to work with the available light, and when to move discreetly allows me to document the ceremony without distracting from it.
My goal is for Nina and Frank to look back at their photographs and remember the experience of their ceremony, not simply how it looked.
From the Ceremony to the Reception
After the ceremony, the atmosphere of a wedding naturally changes.
The formalities give way to the celebration, and the reception brings a different kind of energy to the photographs.
Nina and Frank’s wedding reception at Verdi’s of Westbury was the final part of our photography coverage.
Reception photography is where I enjoy combining different styles of storytelling.
Some photographs benefit from careful composition, especially when documenting the venue and the overall atmosphere. Others are better captured spontaneously, without interrupting the interactions between the couple and their guests.
As a photographer, I want to preserve that balance.
I look for moments that show the celebration as a whole, while also paying attention to the smaller interactions that make each wedding different.
The result should be a collection of images that feels connected to the rest of the wedding day, rather than a separate series of reception photographs.
My Approach to Photographing Nina and Frank’s Wedding
Every wedding has its own rhythm.
Some couples prefer an extended portrait session, while others place greater importance on documenting their ceremony and spending time with family and friends.
For Nina and Frank, the combination of a first look, family photographs, ceremony, and reception provided a well-rounded wedding photography experience.
Each part required a slightly different approach.
During the first look, I focused on giving the couple space. For the family portraits, organization and clear direction were essential. During the ceremony, I worked discreetly to capture the moments as they unfolded. And at the reception, my attention shifted toward the celebration and the people sharing it.
This flexibility is something I consider essential in my work as a professional wedding photographer in New York.
I don’t want every wedding gallery to look exactly the same.
I want the photographs to reflect the people, the location, and the atmosphere of that particular celebration.
